Communicating relocation

I am moving to or within the municipality

  • Report your move to the municipality to which you are moving.
  • Do this up to 4 weeks before and no later than 5 days after the move date.

What moving date does the municipality use?

  • Do you communicate your change of address before you move? Then the municipality will adjust the address details on the date you pass on. This is then the date of change of address.
  • Are you reporting your change of address after you have moved? Then the date you communicate the change to the municipality is the official date of change of address.

What should I pay attention to?

  • Make sure you give all the information the municipality needs. Otherwise, the municipality will not update your address information.
  • Do you report your change of address later than 5 days after moving? Then this can have financial consequences. Think for example of your rent allowance, study financing, parking permit, municipal taxes or benefits.
