Alderman Johan de Vries of Slotdijk, who has long been committed to the arrival of fast and problem-free internet, regrets that the collaboration with Rednet did not lead to the desired result. Despite the extension of the registration period, the gap between the required number of registrations and the actual number of registrations remained too large. Unfortunately, there was no viable alternative for the municipalities.
Hope remains for those who did register. De Vries: "Apparently, the need is not great enough, but the fact remains that we are still hearing from people in rural areas that they are in dire need. For these people, we are entering into discussions with other local parties to see if they can provide customized solutions."
