Fast Internet

The region's municipalities continue to look for a solution to poor digital accessibility in outlying areas.

Slotdijk alderman Johan de Vries, who has long been committed to the arrival of fast and hassle-free Internet, regrets that the cooperation with Rednet did not lead to the desired result. Despite the extension of the registration deadline, the gap between the required number of registrations and the actual registrations remained too large. Unfortunately, there was no workable alternative for the municipalities.

The hope for the people who did sign up has not gone away. de Vries: "Apparently the need is not great enough, but the fact is and remains that we still hear from people in the outlying area that the need is high among them. For these people, we will enter into discussions with other, local parties to see if they can provide customized services."
