Platform for and by young people

We let them speak for themselves:

"We are a group of young people from Sloterburg who want to get involved for young people. We saw that our village was renewing considerably, but were missing a voice for our peers. In this way, we hope to make it a little more fun in the village for young people and also organize events in the future. Currently there are three of us so.... If you would like to help us think about things like nightlife or social issues, feel free to send us a message! This youth initiative, appreciated by the city council, resulted from a series of discussions between young people and Alderman Griet de Laat (portfolio holder for youth). The initial idea was to establish a youth council, but this idea proved unviable.

Councilwoman Griet de Laat shares the young people's enthusiasm. "I think it's great and warmly applaud this initiative. In this way we (read: municipality and young people) can quickly connect, exchange ideas, share plans and ask/answer mutual questions. I wish them good luck and sincerely hope that a lot of young people (broadly between 15 and 18 years old) will join this."
