Parking of large vehicles
What is it?
- It is prohibited to park large vehicles on the road. This applies to trucks and coaches, for example.
- If you still want to park a large vehicle on the road, you must apply for an exemption from the municipality.
How does it work?
You need a parking permit in the following cases:
- your vehicle is longer than 6 meters or higher than 2.4 meters
- you want to park on Monday to Friday between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. or on weekends
Please note
If you have a motorhome, caravan, or camper van that is longer than 6 meters or higher than 2.4 meters, you may park it on the road for a maximum of 3 days. You do not need to apply for an exemption for this.
What should I do?
You can apply for the exemption at the municipality. Please provide the following information:
- your name and address
- your vehicle details
- the street where you want to park the vehicle
- date and time when you want to park the vehicle
- why you want to park your large vehicle on the road
How long will it take?
You will receive notification within 8 weeks as to whether you will be granted the exemption.
Lodge an objection
Do you disagree with the municipality's decision? If so, you can lodge an objection within six weeks.
