Marketplace Applications

What is it?

If you want a place at the market, you apply for a marketplace permit from the municipality. This applies to all types of markets:

  • daily market
  • weekly market
  • annual fair (for example, a Christmas market)

How does it work?

You can ask for a place at the market if you:

  • is registered with the Chamber of Commerce.
  • legal capacity.

Fixed location

The waiting period for a permanent place varies by market and industry. If you are on a waiting list, you must have it renewed every year.

Day site

Each market day, the market master assigns the day spaces per branch to followers. Day places are fixed places that become vacant when an entrepreneur with a fixed place is not there on one occasion. The municipality immediately issues the permit that allows you to register as a follower.

What to do.

You apply for the permit from the municipality. In your application, specify which market you want to be at and what you are selling.

What do I need?

  • a valid ID
  • proof that you are insured against legal liability during your market trade

Additional information

A marketplace permit is different from a stand permit. You need a stand permit if you want a stand space in a public place in the open air. For example, on or near the public road.

The permit is for you personally, but it is transferable. If you know a business owner who wants to take over your place, ask the municipality for permission to transfer your permit.
