Three special young people receive first Youth Ribbons municipality of Montfoort

On Thursday, July 15, Mayor Van Hartskamp awarded three youth ribbons. The intention was to do this during the New Year's reception, but this was cancelled due to corona. The presentation of the ribbons in Montfoort will take place at 19.00 hours in Sint Joseph.

My change

Young people are making a difference! Some leave a deep impression by doing (seemingly) ordinary things for someone else. Others dedicate themselves voluntarily and often without grumbling to make our municipality even more beautiful. All these young people -between the ages of 4 and 18- deserve to be put in the limelight. Therefore, as a token of appreciation, the City Council has decided to award the Youth Medal annually starting in 2021.

This is the first time that Youth Ribbons are being awarded in Montfoort, and this first time, three young residents of our municipality are in the prizes.

Fenna Boumans, (13)

She stands out for her tremendous commitment to various activities. For example, she is very active as a volunteer in all kinds of activities organized by the community sports coach, VOM and the childcare center. Her kindness, incredible commitment and unstoppable enthusiasm make her well-liked by the organizations.

Daan Burger, (16)

Daan Burger is a guy who is completely selfless in his commitment to others. To him, "heart in the right place" certainly applies. What especially stands out for him is the informal care he provides for his 84-year-old grandfather. At least twice a week he does the shopping and takes care of the meals. Daan is a very socially engaged youth and a role model for the youth in our community.
