Three exceptional young people receive first Youth Ribbons from the municipality of Montfoort

On Thursday, July 15, Mayor Van Hartskamp will present three Youth Ribbons. The intention was to do this during the New Year's reception, but this was canceled due to COVID-19. The presentation of the Youth Ribbons in Montfoort will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Sint Joseph conference center.

Young people make a difference! Some leave a lasting impression by doing (seemingly) ordinary things for others. Others volunteer, often without complaint, to make our community even more beautiful. All these young people—aged between 4 and 18—deserve to be put in the spotlight. That is why, as a token of appreciation, the municipal council has decided to award the Youth Ribbon annually from 2021 onwards.

This is the first time that Youth Ribbons have been awarded in Montfoort, and on this first occasion, three young residents of our municipality have won prizes.

Fenna Boumans, (13)

She stands out for her tremendous dedication to various activities. For example, she is very active as a volunteer in all kinds of activities organized by the neighborhood sports coach, VOM, and the daycare center. Her friendliness, incredible dedication, and unstoppable enthusiasm make her very popular with the organizations.

Daan Burger, (16)

Daan Burger is a young man who is completely selflessly committed to helping others. He certainly has his heart in the right place. What stands out most about him is the informal care he provides for his 84-year-old grandfather. At least twice a week, he does the shopping and prepares meals. Daan is a very socially engaged young person and a role model for the youth in our community.
