Garbage, plastic, can and drink containers

What is it?

If you hand in plastic, cans and drinking containers separately, the municipality can recycle them properly to make new things from them.

Milieucentraal.nl lists what waste falls under plastic, cans and drinking cartons.

Since July 1, 2021, there has been a €0.15 deposit on small plastic bottles of soft drinks and water. These bottles can be recognized by the new deposit logo. You can hand in these bottles at (larger) supermarkets, gas stations along the highway, NS stations and some other places such as sports clubs.

What to do.

  • Make sure all packages are empty
  • Remove paper, cardboard or aluminum foil
  • Deliver your waste in one of the following ways:
    • In the special collection container near you
    • In the municipality's special waste bags provided for this purpose

If you are unsure which bin your waste belongs in, check Milieu Centraal' s waste separation guide.

Additional information
