Waste, plastic, cans, and beverage cartons
What is it?
If you separate plastic, cans, and beverage cartons for recycling, the municipality can recycle them effectively to make new products.
Milieucentraal.nl lists which types of waste fall under the categories of plastic, cans, and beverage cartons.
Since July 1, 2021, there has been a €0.15 deposit on small plastic bottles of soft drinks and water. These bottles can be recognized by the new deposit logo. You can return these bottles to (larger) supermarkets, gas stations along the highway, NS stations, and a number of other places such as sports clubs.
What should I do?
- Ensure that all packaging is empty.
- Remove paper, cardboard, or aluminum foil
- Dispose of your waste in one of the following ways:
- In the special collection container in your neighborhood
- In the special waste bags provided by the municipality
If you are unsure which bin your waste belongs in, check Milieu Centraal's waste separation guide at .
