What is it?

You can dispose of your household waste in the collection container in your neighborhood. If there is no collection container in your neighborhood, put your waste outside on a fixed day.

In addition, there are separate waste containers in your neighborhood for paper and cardboard, plastic, glass, textiles, and small chemical waste. Check Afvalscheidingswijzer.nl to find out which bin your waste belongs in.

If the waste is too large or too heavy to fit in a garbage bag or container, it is considered bulky waste and different rules apply.

What should I do?

If your waste is collected on a fixed day, it is important that you put it outside in the correct manner:

  • Sort the waste.
  • Put the trash in garbage bags.
  • If you have waste bins that you put outside every week, make sure that the bins are not too full or too heavy. If you do not yet have waste bins, request them from the municipality.
