Garbage, bulky waste

What is it?

Bulky garbage or bulky waste is waste that is too large or heavy to put in a garbage bag or container, such as furniture or carpeting. The municipality collects most bulky waste, except, for example, construction and demolition waste.

What to do.

  • The municipality determines at what time and where you can put the bulky waste outside. This way, the bulky waste will not litter and cause a nuisance.
  • Separate bulky waste and make packages out of it.
  • You can also drop off your bulky waste at the municipality's collection point (waste collection station or environmental street).

Companies and bulky waste

If you have a business and want bulky waste collected, choose an approved company from the national VIHB list of the National and International Road Transport Organization (NIWO). The municipality is not responsible for the collection of company waste, because there are great differences between the type and quantity of waste from companies.

By having your commercial waste collected by an approved company from the national VIHB list, you ensure that you are complying with environmental requirements for the storage and disposal of commercial waste. What these requirements are depends on the type and quantity of waste you turn in.
