Waste, bulky waste

What is it?

Bulky waste or bulky items are items that are too large or too heavy to fit in a garbage bag or container, such as furniture or carpeting. The municipality collects most bulky waste, except for construction and demolition waste, for example.

What should I do?

  • The municipality determines what time and where you can put your bulky waste outside. This prevents bulky waste from littering and causing nuisance.
  • Separate the bulky waste and make small packages.
  • You can also drop off your bulky waste at the municipal collection point (waste collection station or recycling center).

Businesses and bulky waste

If you have a business and want to have bulky waste collected, choose a certified company from the national VIHB list of the National and International Road Transport Organization (NIWO). The municipality is not responsible for the collection of commercial waste, as there are significant differences between the type and quantity of waste produced by different businesses.

By having your commercial waste collected by a certified company from the national VIHB list, you ensure that you comply with the environmental requirements for the storage and disposal of commercial waste. These requirements depend on the type of waste you dispose of and the quantity.
