Searching through waste

What is it?

If you have a business that reuses (recycles) waste, you can apply for a permit from the municipality to search through waste. With this permit, you are allowed to search through bulky waste that people have put out on the side of the street to be collected. Examples include scrap metal, furniture, wood, washing machines, and refrigerators.

Please note: You cannot obtain a permit to search through waste in garbage bags and containers.
