Entering a restricted area

What is it?

It is prohibited to enter an area that has been cordoned off by the municipality. If you still wish to do so, you must apply for an exemption. If you do not, you will be fined!

What should I do?

You can apply for the exemption at the municipality. Include the following information with your application:

  • Which area is involved.
  • Why you want to enter the area.
  • The date and time you wish to do this.
  • The names of the persons who wish to enter the area.

What do I need?

  • your valid proof of identity

How long will it take?

You will receive notification from the municipality within 8 weeks as to whether you will be granted the exemption.

Lodge an objection

If you disagree with the municipality's decision, you can lodge an objection within six weeks.
