50 plus or partially disabled
IOAW stands for the Income Provision for Older and Partially Disabled Unemployed Persons Act. You can apply for this benefit at WIL.
Terms and Conditions
You can receive IOAW benefits if you meet all of the following conditions:
- You were born before January 1, 1965.
- You became unemployed at or after the ageof 50, but you have not yet reached the state pension age.
- You received unemployment benefits for more than 3 months.
- You are no longer eligible for unemployment benefits.
- You do not have sufficient income to live on.
An IOAW benefit is also possible if you meet the following conditions:
- You were born before January 1, 1965.
- On or after your50th birthday, you received WGA benefits (return to work for partially disabled persons).
- Your WGA benefit was discontinued because your reassessment showed that you are less than 35% incapacitated for work.
- You do not have sufficient income to live on.
Applications
The application procedure is the same as that for applying for social assistance benefits. This means that you must:
- make an appointment through our customer service*
- The date on which you contact us to make an appointment is the so-called notification date.
- You will receive notification within 8 weeks as to whether you will receive the benefit.
- If it has been determined that you are entitled to benefits, this is the date on which your benefits will commence.
